Dear Fellow travelers,
One morning this week I ventured out to the backyard to tackle something too long neglected. If I had taken a “before” picture, you would most certainly be more impressed with my progress, and clearly much remains to be done. As I was grabbing handfuls of briars and pulling them away from the pile, I was struck by a life metaphor and wanted to share it with you. You see, these pictures reveal one of my “dirty little secrets”. For the past few years this corner space of my yard has been the spot where I threw things that I didn’t want to deal with in the moment, fallen branches from natural pruning, broken pieces of wood from the fence, scrub from other trimming. As time went on, briars and other prickly things grew up over the pile hiding what was beneath and creating a bigger mess. Of course this meant that I was less willing to deal with the situation.
Why did I begin the attack on this particular day? I have no idea, but that’s how our energy breaks free and begins to flow. When we are open to change, something just clicks. I was surprised by how easily the briars pulled away and how quickly I was able to get to the under layer that I had left behind. This made me think about the work I do with my clients and how easily they have released energy in situations that no longer serve their lives. They have literally allowed the briars to be pulled away to get to what was buried beneath, thrown there years ago when they didn’t know how to dispose of it or just couldn’t face it.
Soon I’ll be able to dig away the remaining debris in my little corner spot to reach the original surface. Then I can create whatever I want. Sound familiar? The plan for my little corner spot is to begin here to create the Japanese Garden that I’ve dreamed of for the past 5 or 6 years. It’s not certain what will be planted and it’s always possible that the plan will change. That’s what’s great about clearing space; YOU get to decide what goes there next!
Each of us has the opportunity EVERY day to decide how we will move forward on our journey. What will you do today? Will you throw more debris on the pile or are you ready to clear space for what you really want? It’s your choice.
If you’re in the DFW area, come see me at the Dallas Psychic Fair. The Fair takes place the first Sunday of each month and I am there most months. If you're out of the area, we can also schedule a distance session conducted by phone. In any event, I’d love to hear about what you will design in the spaces you clear!
Light & Love to you,
